This is a good little dock for MOST, but not all, iPod models. The trouble is, you won't know whether it works with yours until you try. In my case, it worked fine for several different Nanos, but not at all with the iPod Touch, even though the literature claims it will work with the Touch, and the product contains an adapter to fit the Touch. This limits the product's usefulness and makes the mail-order purchase something of a crapshoot.

I'm glad that some people found this product useful--I didn't. In fact, for a while I thought it had ruined my iPod. I placed my first gen Nano in the cradle, and the USB recognition signal sounded as usual, but immediately thereafter the device began disconnecting and reconnecting several times on its owh. Then I got a "USB device not recognized" dialogue (this is a Windows XP system). And then the screen said only "Do not disconnect"--no circle/slash image, just those words. Nothing I tried would revive it, including trying other USB cables, and placing it in my radio's docking station. I also tried a number of times to use the standard iPod reset procedure--still no luck, and no response from the device.
What finally worked was leaving it off charge for three or four hours, and it finally "unstuck." Since the cradle components are presumably passive, I'm guessing that the problem was a loose connection, cold solder joint, etc. But I'm certainly not going to try it again to find out.

I bought this to connect an ITouch IPOD to home stereo. Audio output did not work but did work with an Apple base. I plan to return unit as defective.

This cradle looks good and is well built, however it only sends audio to my stereo from ipod touch, and for some reason it doesn't send from iphone 3G. On the packaging is says that it's compatible with 3G. So either the unit is damaged or info is misleading. It charges fine ipod touch and iphone 3G, though.

I bought this dock for my iPod Classic after searching for a solution to work with my stereo. I didn't want to pay $50 for the dock Apple was asking for so I purchased this dock with unknown brand name - GP? On a leap of faith based on the product description which indicated it worked with the iPod Classic. Guess what? It works like a champ with my stereo. I just used the aux in my stereo to plug it in with the 3.5mm to RCA cable and voila, music! Buy it, you won't be sorry.
